Are you a “Self-Respecting Baker” or a lousy leader?

Every element of great bread, happens long before it goes into the oven...

If you skip a step, ignore an ingredient, or cut a corner, the entire loaf turns to an EPIC FAIL, or at the least, a disappointment. What self-respecting baker, would shove poorly prepared dough into an oven, hoping that it would miraculously turn out in the end? Too often we see leaders who are overly confident in their (or their team’s) experience and qualifications, who overlook the crucial elements of preparation. They instead, “shove the dough in the oven” so to speak, putting out fires along the way (as the fires will inevitably arise due to lousy preparation).

How often do we spend our focus and effort on the exciting final steps? We forget to spend our time and attention on the preparation, which is a lot less urgent and glamorous, but far more important.
Poor preparation is a lousy excuse for a last-minute selfish frenzy. Let’s briefly look at the successful leaders, the ones who seem to have everything under control. The ones whom others look to, in times of chaos, because they are calm and confident in their ability to succeed.

They carry this demeanor, not because they are “job-title endowed”, not because they have a great resume of experience, it is because they are prepared. If you want to understand where  mastery  and success come from, take a look at the inputs and the journey, not simply the outputs.

This is where you would expect us to brag about all of our authors' credentials, student loans debt, and Fortune 100 clients. At Leader PREP, we think that shouldn't be the focus. We know that your journey is unique, so the simple ideas we discuss and actions we recommend are tried and true, and often sound like "common sense". Our process helps to turn common sense into common practice.
